You can take it with you... to 30 Boxes, gCal, iCal, and Outlook.

It's been a week since we launched Stikkit at the Web 2.0 Summit and things here at Values of n have been hopping. While the sheer number of people taking Stikkit for a spin has been exciting to see, what has truly bowled us over is the collective time and thoughtfulness put into telling us what you see in our little yellow notes. The forums are chock full of questions simple and deep, detailed feedback on what you like and don't like about Stikkit, and in-depth impressions of how you thought things would work, how they actually do work — and some good suggestions on how they should work.

This is precisely why we decided to release an open public beta. And we're more than thrilled we did. For all of this we are truly grateful.

We just pushed our first update since launch. It's loaded with enhancements, user-interface tweaks, bug fixes, and some brand new functionality that we think you'll quite like.

  • Now you can take it with you: your Stikkit calendar events, that is. Top of the brand spankin' new features list is the ability to export your calendar events and to-dos to iCal on the Mac; Microsoft Outlook on Windows; , Google Calendar, and anywhere else that accepts the iCal/ics standard. While I say "export," if you're using iCal you're actually subscribing to your Stikkit events: reschedule something in Stikkit and you'll see the change reflected in iCal.

  • Want a new nickname? Now you can change it.

  • Now, in addition to sending email directly to your Stikkit-by-email address, you can blind carbon copy (Bcc:) Stikkit during the course of email correspondence.

  • Everywhere you find a date or time -- timestamps, events, due dates, etc -- you'll now find it accurate.

  • We've tweaked, twiddled, and optimized Stikkit's performance.

  • We've baked in roll-over labels and keyboard shortcut hints wherever there's a button to press or tab to select.

  • We pulled much of the Ajax, which means permalinks and navigation work as you'd expect them to. Every stikkit, every view, every search now has its own URL and page title, so you can bookmark it in your browser and find your way back to it at will.

  • Our forums are up and bustling. And we've transferred our documentation to a set of help forums where it is growing daily thanks to some generous contributors.

  • Michael is hard at work building a comprehensive screencast library for those of you who prefer to learn visually.

  • The next time you stick a stikkit, notice the "to do this, type this" hints at the bottom of the page.

  • If you've not already discovered it, be sure to check out the Stikkit bookmarklet. You'll find it in the toolbox (click the "toolbox" link at the top of the Stikkit page).
Whew! And we're already hard at work on the next release. We'll let you know as soon as it's ready.

(Conveniently, John Gruber was kind enough to (pre-)write the release notes for this version of Stikkit. ;-)
